Sunny Hostin says she was rejected as a potential host of “Jeopardy!” because producers deemed her “too controversial” for the family-friendly game show.
“The View” co-host — who hit headlines earlier this month after she likened white women voting for the GOP to “roaches voting for Raid” — made the revelation during a interview on the podcast “Just Jenny” on Monday.
Speaking with her friend Jenny Hutt, Hostin declared: “I wanted to try out to become one of the hosts of ‘Jeopardy!’ I thought it was really cool. I love ‘Jeopardy!’”
The former prosecutor — who appeared on an episode of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” back in 2016 — said she put her name forward for the coveted gig after the death of legendary longtime host Alex Trebek in 2020.

“I wanted to try out for it, and I knew that they were trying out other people, like Robin Roberts from ABC,” the star explained. “I knew Sara Haines, who’s a co-host [on ‘The View’], also has her own game show on ABC [called ‘The Chase’].”
“But I was told I was too controversial to be considered for ‘Jeopardy!’” Hostin declared, much to Hutt’s surprise.
The Post has reached out to the game show’s reps for comment.
Hostin is an outspoken Democrat who has often made headlines for her divisive remarks during her six-year tenure on “The View.”
She once claimed black Republicans are an “oxymoron,” and recently alleged that Elon Musk purchased Twitter to protect the speech of “straight white men.”

Despite being steadfast in her opinions, Hostin told Hutt on the podcast that she never set out to be controversial.
“It’s not a label that I have put on myself, but it’s a label that I have nonetheless,” she conceded.
Elsewhere in the interview, Hostin claimed that she was “a popular bogeyman” in a country that was deeply divided, but insisted that she is quite conservative in many respects and is a devoted wife and mom.

Multiple big names co-hosted “Jeopardy!” following Trebek’s death, including Savannah Guthrie and Katie Couric.
This past July, however, producers announced that former contestant Ken Jennings and “Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik were both named as the permanent co-hosts of “Jeopardy!”
