Taylor Swift announced the Eras Tour earlier this month — her first since her “Reputation” album tour in 2018 — and fans are eager to get their hands on tickets.
The series of concerts is described as “a journey through all of [Swift’s] musical eras” and will launch in stadiums in the US.
The coveted tickets went on presale Tuesday, and fans are burning Ticketmaster to the ground on Twitter after experiencing a range of difficulties during the pre-sale.
Fans are experiencing difficulties including given codes not working, queues being “temporarily paused” and 505 error messages.
“Guys the line isn’t moving because none of our codes are working so no one can check out and let you in lol,” one fan tweeted. “Looks like lines are officially paused while they fix it??? pls pray it works so we can get seats and so the rest of you can be let in because this SUCKS.”
“I literally cannot understate how disappointing this has been like I waited in the queue and FINALLY got in only to be told that I cannot buy a single tickets because their codes broke. it sucks,” a disappointed fan said.
“RT if ticketmaster is now your enemy,” another said.
“Ticketmaster should not charge us any fees for this nonsense,” another wrote.
“Obsessed with the way Ticketmaster was like ‘this demand is historic! that’s why we didn’t do anything to prepare!’ like HELLO,” someone joked.
“It’s Ticketmaster, hi, they’re the problem it’s them,” a fan tweeted, referencing Swift’s “Anti-Hero” lyrics.
“The Taylor Swift ticket presale is proof that the hunger games could actually happen in real life,” another quipped.
“When Taylor said ‘I think there’s been a glitch’ she was talking about the Ticketmaster verified fan presale for The Eras Tour,” one fan said.
“Ticketmaster is a multi BILLION dollar company. they knew the demand for these tickets. they need better systems, fans get let down time after time. ‘We put the fans first’ no you don’t. if you did, you would have this issue solved by now after YEARS of things like this happening,” someone wrote.
Those who were left out of getting pre-sale codes have also taken to Twitter to share their reactions.
“Ticketmaster using the words ‘historic demand’ means the site will be crashing before they even unlock the presale,” one person wrote, predicting the crash that fans are now facing before even entering the waiting room for the 10 a.m. pre-sale.
“Live footage of Ticketmaster deciding who does and doesn’t get presale,” one person tweeted with an old clip of Swift herself telling Ellen DeGeneres: “They’re left out. They didn’t get chosen, that’s how life works.”
“Taylor Swift actually wrote ‘the great war’ about Ticketmaster presale codes,” one user joked.
“Crazy how Ticketmaster is determining my mental health for the next 8 months,” another quipped.
“Ticketmaster I am on my knees,” a user tweeted.
“How do we convince Elon Musk to buy Ticketmaster?” another person joked.
Swift, 32, announced she was hitting the road again in a pre-taped video on “Good Morning America.”
“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time, that I’ve been planning for ages, and I finally get to tell you — I’m going back on tour,” she said at the time.
The “Anti-Hero” singer recently added eight additional shows to her tour due to high demand.
A range of musical guests has been named for her opening acts, including Paramore, Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl in Red, MUNA, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.
Presale for tickets started Tuesday, while general sale begins Thursday.
If you’d like to buy tickets before they officially go on sale to the general public, you can on Vivid Seats.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
Their site has a 100% buyer guarantee that ensures your transaction will be safe, secure and the tickets will be delivered before the event.
Now, good luck finding tickets.
