Hugh Jackman’s ‘The Music Man’ extends Broadway run

Hugh Jackman won’t be heading back to Hollywood any time soon.

The Aussie actor’s Broadway hit musical “The Music Man” is extending its run on Broadway until 2023.

Its “positively final performance” will occur on Jan. 15, 2023 instead of its original end date of New Year’s Day.

“The hunger of audiences for our show continues unabated,” producer Kate Horton said in a statement.

“We are grateful to Hugh and Sutton [Foster] and our entire glorious company for agreeing to add these additional 16 performances,” she went on.

She added: “The joy they bring to audiences night after night is incredible to witness and we know this ‘The Music Man’ will be remembered long after the final curtain comes down. If we could go on forever, we would.”

“The Music Man” revival stars Jackman, 54, as Professor Harold Hill and Sutton Foster, 47, as his reluctant love interest Marian Paroo.

The show was delayed several times due to COVID-19 and officially opened earlier this year.

The pair will have played 374 regular and 46 preview performances by the time the final curtain drops next year.

The “X-Men” star recently joked that he split his pants onstage during one performance.

He’s currently bulking up to embody his Marvel character Wolverine for the upcoming movie “Deadpool 3.”

“The Music Man” revival officially opened on Broadway on Feb. 10, 2022.

In an interview with Variety published earlier this month, the “Scoop” star said: “The other night, I could hear the Velcro go creaking and actually popped open. I’ve split two pairs of pants.”

“It was an 18-inch tear. I had about two minutes. I said to the stage manager, ‘New pair of pants!’ I had my pants around my ankles,” he said.

“I thought, ‘If my dresser doesn’t get here in time, it’s better to go on in split pants than no pants.’ Then I saw him running from stage right to stage left, top speed. We made it just in time,” Jackman continued.
